Party-internal elections in Turkey: congress, delegate and nomination campaigns
In party-internal elections, the voters are the party’s members and delegates. For provincial and district chair congresses, delegate elections and nomination processes, we prepare the introduction film, portraits, presentation folder and social media content candidates use to introduce themselves.
Rules for party-internal elections
Under Article 21 of Political Parties Law No. 2820, party bodies and congress delegates are elected under judicial supervision, by secret ballot and open count. For district congresses, member lists are submitted to the chair of the district election board, and the election is held under this supervision; objections are made within two days and decided on the same day. The congress timetable, numbers of delegates and the procedure for nomination applications are set out in the party’s statute and regulations.
Reaching delegates: a defined, small electorate
The delegates who vote at a congress are known and limited in number. So communication is not aimed at a broad audience; it rests on a clear, respectful message that reaches each delegate: the candidate’s background, team, plans and timetable for the organisation. A short film to show at meetings, a printed presentation folder and digital introduction cards sent to delegates are the main tools in this period.
The nomination process
When seeking a nomination for parliament or mayor, the candidate is first introduced within the party. The film, portraits and personal website prepared at this stage also form the basis of the general campaign once the candidate is selected. Details are on our parliamentary election campaign and mayoral campaign management pages.
What do we prepare?
