Sports club, association and cooperative elections in Turkey: general assembly communication
In sports club presidential elections and in association and cooperative general assemblies, the voters are the members. We prepare the introduction film, portraits, member information content, social media and, where needed, a list website so candidates and lists can introduce themselves to members.
Which rules apply?
- Associations: The ordinary general assembly is held at the time set in the statute and at least every three years (Turkish Civil Code, Art. 74; Associations Regulation, Art. 13). Elections to the bodies take place at the general assembly.
- Sports clubs: Law No. 7405 on Sports Clubs and Sports Federations, published in the Official Gazette on 26 April 2022, and the club’s statute.
- Cooperatives: Cooperatives Law No. 1163 and the cooperative’s articles of association.

Talking to members
A club or association election rests on members’ ties to the organisation. Candidates and lists should describe the organisation’s history, its current position and plans for the coming term in clear, measured language. In sports clubs the material is athlete and facility footage, in cooperatives project and construction footage, in associations the archive of activities.
